Four individuals will be honored at the Morris County Chamber of Commerce's Economic Outlook/Small Business Awards Luncheon at the Headquarters Plaza Hotel in Morristown.
This year, the annual event was co-sponsored by Pfizer and the Daily Record.
The awards are given in four categories: professional, service, technology and retail.
- Paul Monacelli and ADP/Statewide Insurance Agencies will receive the award in the service category.
- Len Muscarella, president of Interactive Media Associates, technology.
- John Rothstein, managing partner of the law firm of Rothstein & Zuckerman in Millburn, professional.
- Michael Kaufman of Cox Stationers & Printes in Hillside, retail.
Muscarella said his company prides itself on building Internet business for its clients, not just web sites.
He works with his business clients, educating them about the value of Web investment, especially correcting the misconception that Web sites merely target a current customer base. He teaches his clients that Web sites reach new customes, thereby increasing their customer base.
IMA was responsible for designing and launching the Web site for the New York City Ballet.
"Fifty percent of those who bought tickets on the Web had never been to a ballet. Even more important is that the ballet is convinced that it is reaching a new audience," Muscarella said.
Referring to the chamber's award, he said, "I'm honored. It would be one thing to win this award somewhere else, but to win it in Morris County, where so much business takes place, is truly flattering."
The winners are chamber members, chosen by an independent panel of judges for contributions made in their respective fields. They are judged on their innovation, their creativity in achieving growth and profitability, and the growth of the company under their leadership.
